Our children are spending more time watching TV and playing video games than being physically active outside. Additionally, their diets often consists of fast-food and other highly processed, high-calorie foods. It is no wonder that we are facing an epidemic of childhood obesity which leads to serious health threats like heart disease, diabetes, sleep apnea, and social and psychological problems. Exposing children to an environment that allows them daily contact with nature positively impacts their social, psychological, academic and physical health.
